Nancy Carrillo, Ph.D., Senior Evaluation Specialist

Program Planning, Proposal Development, Evaluation and Assessment

Nancy Carrillo has worked as a program evaluator and researcher for almost twenty years in the education, political behavior, criminal justice, environmental, and social service arenas. Nancy uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to answer evaluation questions designed to be developmentally appropriate for the program and useful to the client. Some of her recent work includes the formative evaluation of post-secondary STEM programs, development of a primary school after-school tutoring collaborative, the long-term effects of an informal adult environmental education program, and outcomes from a court mediation program. Nancy has taught social science and methodology courses at University of New Mexico, presented on evaluation approaches and methodologies, and authored articles on evaluation and political science. She currently runs a study group for program managers and evaluators on the topic of organizational networks. She has been active in New Mexico Evaluators for several years and is currently Vice President of Programs. She also serves as Program Co-Chair for the Environmental Program Evaluation TIG for the American Evaluation Association. Nancy earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Master's Degree in Public Administration, and a doctorate degree in Political Science.
