Congratulations to NEREC on two federal grants; one to expand School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) in Las Vegas City Schools and the second to improve School Counseling programs in the region. The project is entitled Youth Experiencing Access to Healthcare in Las Vegas (YEAH! Las Vegas), which captures the goal of making quality healthcare accessible to all students in Las Vegas by adding two additional SBHC locations at the middle school and high school, increasing the number of hours of service, and expanding the types of services available.  The second grant is SCOPE (School Counselors Operating Programs of Excellence) and is intended to expand regional counseling services and build regional capacity in northern NM to implement a three-tiered, prevention-based approach to secondary school counseling using the American School Counselors Association National Model.
